WHY IS THERE SO MUCH PINK?

WHY IS THERE SO MUCH PINK?

At my high school, every senior was tasked with writing a thesis on the topic of their choosing. Being the defiant person I am, I wrote mine on the need for radical comprehensive sex education in schools. At my Christian private school in Texas by the way. I spent the entire course of my senior year researching, writing, editing, memorizing lines, and thinking of all the potential pushback or questions I may receive from the judges.

We wore uniforms daily to school, so I was so excited to show my personality and wear a flashy pink suit on the big day. When my teacher overheard me sharing my excitement about my planned outfit with friends, they informed me that all color beside black, grey, and navy would receive a point reduction. They claimed it was “distracting” and “unprofessional” to wear such a color.

I obviously broke this rule and rocked my thesis presentation in the pink suit I picked out. While defying rules can be risky, the suit made me feel proud which was more important to me than a point deduction.

The hot pink power stuck with me since I put on that suit. It’s an outward expression of my personality through color. It’s my brand. Since I am a nerd for brands, I decided to brand myself. The hot pink color you see all over my website has a specific RBG/Hex code that I like to call Sarah Hallberg Hot Pink. I use Sarah Hallberg Hot Pink on my Spotify, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Google accounts. I had to make it official, duh!

Post thesis presentation in the pink suit obviously, May 2021
